We had to walk away from a few listings recently, as the sellers were being unreasonable in their asking prices. Pricing for some condos and homes are up by 10%-15% over what they were selling for just 3-4 months ago. Complete madness! Sellers are enjoying unprecedented returns, some making over $100,000 for what they paid just a few years ago, but it seems it's still not enough! The real estate market has been performing like the stock market, sensitive to new list HST, mortgage rates and mortgage amortization terms. I really wonder how the buyer will end up selling these same homes in a year or two, should their circumstances change, bigger family, job relocation or any other reasons. Sellers enjoy it while it lasts, it is bound to change!!
